We had a school assignment called "paraphrase", in which we had to choose a traditional artist and try to paint a self portrait in their style, but digitally!
I really loved Leyendecker's work, especially where you could see his work in progress with pencil lines and practicing his painting on the side, mixing colors, etc. So I chose to paint myself as his "Drum Major" piece, but rather than bringing it to his final result, I focused more on emulating his mid-process result.
Really fun challenge!
